Opening Night - Wind, Boats, and Bass!

What a great first night for the Lake Minnetonka Youth Fishing League!  We had seven boats filled with 17 kids and lots of fish caught.  The wind picked up right as the teams headed out to fish, combined with the boat traffic it made for some tough boat control out on the main lake.  Teams adapted, Where's Walter? tucked into a quiet bay and loaded up on the sunnies which made lots of kids happy and kept their coaches busy taking off fish.  The Insta-Gators battled the wind and were rewarded with some dandy largemouth's, including a bonus point 18.5 incher.  The Michigan Musky Maulers (yep that's right they flew in from Michigan for the opener, haven't heard if they are making it back for another event yet, but it's rumored they may stay and fish on Sat.) traded in their muskie rods for sunnies and a couple nice northerns, including a 24 incher.  The Crushers caught six different species on a secret bait call the "Crusher".  The Big Belly Bass were very secretive and put some good bass in the boat as well.  Team Nick also put some good bass in the boat.  The Fishing Fanatics didn't read the score sheet until Wednesday, so they responded with a "Game On" quote for this Sat. morning.   They also chased bass and caught a some good ones!
